When It Was Simple: Is Coming

•September 1, 2011 • Leave a Comment

Hey guys, sorry it’s been OVER A YEAR…but I’ve had lots of personal issues including one stolen laptop followed with one laptop that died within days of me finishing When It Was Simple.

Now I’m back working on it full time and having a blast, I love writing flashback episodes and this will be a doozy.

So thanks for hanging on, there’s mayhem to come.

Max will retuen.

Delay…what delay?!

When It Was Simple is taking a whole lot longer to write then I had anticipated the main reason for this is that when I first envisioned the story it was a slower more history related episode.

While it still is a historical, Manticore related episode it is also jam packed full of action since Max and a couple of others go on a road trip to save Lydeckers hide…and the Manticore program from imminent shut down.

Anyhow work does continue, and it will eventually be released I just wanted to give you all a heads up.

Update: When it Was Simple

•June 25, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Emmet asked me a question in the comments for the last post on the blog and I felt I should answer it right here because everyone deserves to know the answer.

He asked for an approximate date of release for When It Was Simple I can state that it will be soon, I’m currently aiming towards having it done and available for download next Wednesday but as usual I won’t make any promises.

I’m pleased to know that there’s fans enjoying this VS of Dark Angel but I refuse to rush any scripts and can only write as I have the time and the means so you’ll just have to hold on andtrust me that it’s shaping up nicely and coming along well.

Thanks for your understanding.

Pre Credits: When It Was Simple

•May 10, 2010 • 2 Comments

Work continues on Episode 7…and it’s coming along swimmingly…I can assure you it won’t be oh what was it last time…around 6 or so months between episodes.

Here’s the Precredit sequence of When It Was Simple I’m gonna hide most of it after the break althorugh there’s no spoilers.

EXT. MANTICORE- EARLY MORNING- ESTABLISHING SHOT
There are lots of evergreen trees, and plenty of snow on the ground.

Letting types across the screen: Manticore Facility, Gillette Wyoming, November 1997

As we move in we see a group of youth engaged in a forced fast march, they are not flanked by people with weapons, but their trainers are not afraid. They know that should any of their charges break formation, they will be shot, if needed with deadly accuracy. Puffs of breath mist the air; if you hadn’t got it it’s really damned cold.

One of the trainers with military grade white hair begins to quiz them as they continue at a brisk rate of speed. This is COLONEL LYDECKER.

COLONEL LYDECKER
Anyone care to tell me why we’re out here in the snow this morning?

No one answers for the moment they simply continue their exact pace, their feet crunching through the snow.

COLONEL LYDECKER
I want an answer!

The viewpoint changes to show the youth from the rear, they all sport barcodes and super-short hair. The only way to tell the sexes apart is to look at the details some finer than others, one of the female youth responds, her designation is X-5 452.

X-5 452
To test our durability Sir!

S307: When It Was Simple: Update

•April 17, 2010 • Leave a Comment

I’ve now started the process of writing When It Was Simple (WiWS). Unlike the last few episodes which followed one right after the other after the other, (which is as hard to write satisfactorily as it is for you to wait and read), WiWS is a stand alone episode, and the episode itself takes us back to Manticore at an earlier date and time then we’ve ever experienced before.

The title is an allusion to the fact that in reality times were much simpler for all involved before the Breakout and of course before The Pulse.

To tell you anymore would ruin the fun of revelation once it’s released, but I can say that it’s been a joy to to write what I have thus far. It’s so much easier to write stand alone episodes believe me, however soon enough we’ll be back to the main arc.

All said I hope that you don’t have to wait as long, and I hope when it’s released that you enjoy WiWS.

What Goes into an Episode- Phase One

•March 16, 2010 • Leave a Comment

A lot of planning.

In all seriousness I probably cannot cover this in the 8 mins I have left of online time here at the library but I will at least start things off.

Phase One: Consult the Bible
Now while I am a Christian I don’t mean to consult The Holy Bible (although I do reccomend it.) The Bible to which I am refering is basically a very long hand written document on colleg ruled sheets of paper. This document contains in its entirety my plans for the Maximum series of Dark Angel.

It covers things in a broad sense over the thus far planned 3 seasons…and in a much more intricate sense plots and character arcs, and all the other minutia.

It’s a very complex document and some of the details are bound to change but it gives me a framework to work from and that’s key in a long term ongoing project.

Next time an update on Episode 7 When It Was Simple

But I’m back again…and here’s the link to download the new episode.

Also a shout out to my readers: If anyone has copies of the original episodes…please e-mail them to me at RossBond@yahoo.com so I can move them to the new server and we can update links.

Thanks a bunch.

Here’s a sneak peek at Mind Games the next episode of Dark Angel: Maximum!

INT. KHERRINGTON ESTATE- PANIC ROOM- AFTERNOON

Things are as would be expected quite worse. White is coming to his senses a bit however it’s all a case of too little way to late. Max is looking at him as if he’s even more pathetic than usual.
MAX
I should’ve put you out of your misery weeks ago.

WHITE
Don’t tempt fate Max I’m feeling much more like myself now.

Max looks around at the sealed panic room they’re in then gives White a raised eyebrow in return before replying.

MAX
Oh really because it looks like you’ve ran to ye old panic room with your tail between your legs.

WHITE
Max why do you persecute me like this.

MAX
I’m simply returning the favour.

WHITE
Karma.

MAX
Precisely. Except for the reality that I’m not dead yet, and if I DO die then you can claim Karma because you won’t be able to shut me up.

To which I echo all your thoughts by saying bleeding heck that took long enough mate!

There hs been a lot of turmoil around my life recently, and I’ve now got use of a desktop computer and I found the document for the next script on one of my two flash drives.

I’m about to start page 30 of approx. 42 so the script should be available sometime later this week, it is a direct follow up to the last episode Whites’ Christmas.

Thank you for your patience and please always remember that Dark Angel: Maximum will NEVER be cancelled.
